Absolute Abstract
in the Slide Room Gallery, Curated by Joan Richardson
Paintings by Victoria Clarke, Joan Richardson and Gordon Shukin
Exhibition continues until February 6, 2012

This exhibition presents a selection of paintings by three Victoria artists dedicated to pure abstraction. Students of senior Victoria painter Bill Porteous for the past decade, they occupy distinct positions along a spectrum from spontaneous expression to experimental process. This innovative work testifies to the strong and growing presence of abstract painting, rooted in 20th century Modernism, as a valid - even vital -- practice in the contemporary art of this region.

Exhibition continues until February 6, 2012

WATCH THIS SPACE
Outdoor sculpture in the backyard of VISA by Tyler Hodgins. Come check it out!

A temporary boardwalk and construction fence give the viewer visual access to an infinite and inaccessible green space. This sculpture is just one more temporary urban structure, and also a commentary on our relationships with our construction sites. 'Watch This Space' was previously exhibited in Calgary as part of the Artcity Festival of Art, Design, and Architecture.
