Dylan Cram graduated with a Diploma in Fine Arts from Victoria College of Art in 2000, and holds a BFA in photography with Great Distinction from Concordia University in 2008. In 2017, he completed an MFA with Honours in the Media, Art and Design course at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany. He has participated in several international exhibitions and residencies and his work is part of numerous private collections. While born in Victoria, he has lived in Montreal and Berlin for a combined 18 years. His work, while primarily based in oil painting, is a distillation of media and technology. Using a process that combines techniques of painting and photography, difficult subject matter is transformed through a selection of devices adopted from the history of visual expression. This is intended to defer immediate comprehension and extend the possibilities of interpretation.
