
Biography
Lee Cookson is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer born and raised in Moh’kinsstis (Calgary, AB) who currently resides in Victoria, BC. His artistic practice has spanned performing arts, creative writing, and visual arts, with a focus on collaborative and community-oriented practices, and finding inventive and multidisciplinary approaches to storytelling. His work in performing arts has been seen at the National Arts Centre, High Performance Rodeo, PUSH Festival, Magnetic North Theatre Festival, Summerworks, MASS MoCA, La Mama ETC, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, the Court Theatre, and the International Festival of Animated Objects; his creative writing has been featured in publications such as The Gateway Review and The New Quarterly; and his exhibition and installation work has been presented at Sled Island Music and Arts Festival, Beakerhead, Exposure Photography Festival, Little Fernwood Gallery, Gibsons Public Art Gallery, and Island Mountain Arts.
