Biography Tamara Bond was born in Prince George BC and received her BFA from Emily Carr University in 1999. Her work has been shown in commercial and public galleries and Artist run-centres across Canada. Bond is represented by Madrona Gallery in Victoria, BC. She is a recent recipient of an Explore and Create Canada Council Grant (2021) to create a graphic memoir and another (2022) to create a series of large scale, mixed media paintings. Bond’s studio practice involves storytelling with many mediums including collage, painting, mixed media and drawing. She attempts to draw everything that her mind considers, and combines them all to create narratives from. Graham or Winsor & Newton Designer Colours are the preferred brands): titanium white (large tube) ivory black - watercolour brushes: synthetic sable (round), no. 12 and no. 4 - palette for mixing paint: white plastic palette for watercolour, white ceramic plates or white lids from yogurt containers or a combination (or your preferred surface/method for mixing gouache paints) - paper: any drawing or watercolour paper you have on hand; we will be working on papers that are approx 9 x 12 " Additional Items to be discussed during the first class: - Gouache Paints (M. Biography Mohsen Veysi is an artist, researcher, and educator with over 10 years of teaching experience. He has a BFA and MA in Visual Arts from the Academia di Belle Arti of Florence, an MFA from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a PhD in Humanities with a focus on art history from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. He has a passion for poetry, philosophy, and art history, which is evident in his work that integrates visual and verbal elements. His research explores various facets of art history, with a particular focus on the intersections of drawing, Persian calligraphy, and poetry, as well as the symbiotic relationship between image and text. As an instructor, Veysi engages students from diverse backgrounds, employing a student-centered approach that prioritizes self-discovery.
