Colour and composition are the two most important considerations in any painting. The course includes developing an understanding of the colour wheel and working with colour schemes that emphasize value, temperature and discords. The overall focus is on how to create colour harmony in a painting. The course will also include in-class exercises covering the elements that go into making a dynamic composition such as proportion, focal point and balance.
