This twelve-week course is designed to deepen students’ understanding of how to capture the myriad of elements that make up the natural world. Subjects will range from individual objects such as leaves and trees, to intimate and expansive landscapes. This course covers basic colour theory and composition, as well as a variety of techniques and approaches to paint nature. Projects will include painting from photo references, real life and the imagination. The projects will be supplemented with examples of contemporary artists working with themes related to nature.
