This course uses the visual richness of the botanical world to examine various methodologies and representational strategies prevalent in contemporary painting. Weekly presentations and painting projects are geared towards developing the confidence to create compositions from different types of source material, including from direct observation and from photographs. With an emphasis on personal expression, you will be encouraged to respond expressively to shape, colour, line and texture, and to explore the possibilities of biomorphic abstraction.
