Supply List - Drawing Nature
Student should bring any and all drawing supplies to this first class, plus:
- 18” x 24” piece of paper or similar size
- graphite pencils (range from 4H-6B)
- charcoal (willow or compressed)
- 1 kneaded eraser
- white soft eraser
- 9 x12” or larger sketchbook (preferably the kind with rings so pages can lie flat)
Additional items to be discussed during the first class:
- graphite sticks
- conté (black, sanguine, white)
- blending stump and/or soft rag
- assortment of chalk pastels
- assortment of colour pencils
- masking tape
- black India ink + some soft brushes
- Pad of newsprint
- various sheets of drawing paper for each project
- any other mark making supplies you may already have (ie. your favorite stick)
- tracing paper
Supplies can be purchased in downtown Victoria at: Art World (860 Yates St), Island Blue (905 Fort St) or Opus (512 Herald St).
Local art supply stores have varying discount options for students. Monks and Opus offer membership programs for discounts. Check stores’ websites for details.
