Supply List - Design: Principles & Elements
Items required for the first class:
- Gouache paint. You will need the minimum, primary colours- (Red, Yellow and
Blue) plus black and white. You can bring more colours than this if you wish.
Liquitex Professional Acrylic Gouache is great for beginners. Holbein Acryla
Gouache is another good product. Liquitex and Holbein are acrylic gouache,
so they dry on your palette like acrylic paint and can’t be re-used once dry.
Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache and Daniel Smith brand are both made with
gum arabic, so when they dry on your palette you can re-mix them with water. They are
a bit more expensive.
Any brand of gouache will work well. Some students have used HIMI brand with good
results.
