Supply List - Painting: Light and Space

Materials for the first class:

- Paint colours (hue versions are fine): Titanium white, raw umber, ultramarine blue, magenta, cadmium yellow light, cyan, cerulean or turquoise blue.

- Brushes: Hog bristle or synthetic oil/ acrylic brushes: 1 round #1 or #2, 2 fliberts #3, #4, or #5, 1 filbert #10 or #12, 1 large 2" hardware store flat brush

- 1 small bottle Gesso

- 1 mixed-media paper pad (medium or large size)

- 2 small empty glass jars with lid for your mediums 

- 1 small container for working with medium (clean tuna can is good)

- Disposable palette sheets

- Masking tape

- Cotton rags

If you are using oil paint:

- 1 small bottle odourless mineral spirits

- 1 small bottle liquin or galkyd medium

- 1 extra 2" hardware store flat brush

If you are using acrylic paint:

- 1 small bottle acrylic medium (gloss or mat)

- 1 small empty spray bottle

Additional items to be discussed during the first class:

5 painting surfaces (either canvas boards, stretched canvases, or gessoed wood panels) or various sizes
