Supply List - The Graphic Novel

Items required for the first class:

-your favourite writing pen and a drawing pen

-pencil and eraser

-Sketchbook- This can be a traditional sketchbook like Opus Essential Paperback, Wirebound

or Hardbound Sketchbooks, 8.5” x 11”. This sketchbook will be used for writing out your story

and for making the storyboard for your graphic novel.

We will be discussing art supplies on the first day. What you will need to buy will depend on

what materials you decide to create your graphic novel with. Some options are: watercolours,

gouache, pencil crayon, India ink, and felt pen. I highly recommend waiting to buy any

materials until after the first class.

Note: Supplies can be purchased in downtown Victoria at: Art World (860 Yates St), Island Blue (905 Fort St) or Opus (512 Herald St).

Local art supply stores have varying discount options for students. Monks and Opus offer membership programs for discounts. Check stores’ websites for details.
