Supply List - Watercolour: Art and Science

Items required for the first class:

- watercolour paint in tubes (blue, red, yellow, orange, violet and green)

Recommended brand and colours: Winsor Blue, Winsor Red, Winsor Yellow, Winsor Orange, Winsor Violet and Winsor Green.

- watercolour brushes: #10 and #4 round synthetic watercolour brushes

- white plastic palette for mixing colours (white plastic lids could suffice)

- 3 sheets of Arches (or equivalent) watercolour paper, 140 lb, cold press 22 x 30”, or an Arches watercolour pad, 140 lb, cold press, 10 x 14”

- 1 sheet of Legends black watercolour paper

*You will work on one-quarter and half sheets of 22 x 30" watercolour paper for this course. It is recommended that you bring all your sheets to the first class. The instructor will show the proper way to tear paper or you can cut the paper in advance at home: one sheet into quarters, one sheet into two pieces; the black sheet into quarters. You will need two 1/4 sheets of Arches watercolour paper (or equivalent) for first session

Additional items to be discussed during the first class:

- graphite pencils (H, 2B), eraser and sharpener

- white gouache

- lo-tac masking tape (1/2")

- small spray bottle

- set of 12 soft pastels (optional)
