This course will introduce you to different ways of using coloured and patterned papers to create a composition as you would do with paint. The focus will be on using both abstract and representational designs based on found and composed shapes. The use of coloured papers is a great way to expand your colour awareness and the development of colour schemes for paintings. Josef Albers, who wrote the Interaction of Colour was an adamant believer in the “paper palette” to precede the paint palette.
