Drawing: Exploring Your Visual Language

Online

Isolate recurring marks and shapes to discover a unique, consistent artistic voice in your work

More details

In this course we will explore the elements of visual language in order to help you to determine the visual priorities in your drawings. Classes are structured around underlying elements of formal language: line, shape, form, texture, light, colour, and space. We will explore these visual vocabularies primarily through abstraction, considering how these elements interact, balance, and guide the viewer across the image. This course will help you isolate recurring marks and shapes that form a unique, consistent artistic voice in your work. We will explore a range of drawing materials and encourage a mixed-media approach to image-making. Suitable for all levels. THURSDAYS, JAN 14 - APR 08, 2PM - 5PM(PDT) ONLINE
