    Discover Lindsay Shojania's background and education. Born in Vancouver and raised in Victoria, Lindsay studied political science at McGill before returning home to her family. She was a board member of the Children’s Museum, member of Canadian Institute for International Affairs (CIIA) and is currently a board member of the Greater Victoria Housing Society (GVHS). ($25.99 at Munro’s Books or available at the public library) - Small embroidery scissors - Fabric scissors - Variety of embroidery cotton and pearl cotton in colours you are drawn to (can start with a couple and add on as class progresses) - Embroidery Needles (get at least one smaller and one larger sized one) - Embroidery hoop (8” or 10”) - 12 pieces of plain cotton fabric, 12” x 12” each. New or repurposed. Light or dark coloured - choose one colour you are drawn to, or begin with a couple squares and get more as the class progresses. You will be stitching on one per week of class.     Discover Tamara Bond's background and education. Biography Tamara Bond was born in Prince George BC and received her BFA from Emily Carr University in 1999. Her work has been shown in commercial and public galleries and Artist run-centres across Canada. Bond is represented by Madrona Gallery in Victoria, BC. She is a recent recipient of an Explore and Create Canada Council Grant (2021) to create a graphic memoir and another (2022) to create a series of large scale, mixed media paintings. Bond’s studio practice involves storytelling with many mediums including collage, painting, mixed media and drawing. She attempts to draw everything that her mind considers, and combines them all to create narratives from. Lukas is a reasonable brand with nice vivid colours suitable to this course's approaches - A range of warm and cool primary colours.     Discover Kelly Zantingh's background and education. Biography Kelly Zantingh (she/her) is a visual artist and photographer based on lekwungen territory (Victoria, bc). She graduated with a BAH in studio art from the University of Guelph in 2016 and has participated in artist residencies in Nova Scotia, the Yukon, Portugal, and Victoria. Her work has been exhibited widely across Canada in group and two-person shows in Toronto, Montreal, and Dawson City. She had her first solo exhibition exploring sculptural photography in 2023 at the Fifty Fifty Arts Collective in Victoria entitled lifelines, water bodies. Her works centre around intimacy, touch, bodies and their interactions with land and environments in the age of the Anthropocene.
