  • Jan Redekop | Vancouver Island School of Art

Discover Jan Redekop's background and education. Jan was born in India but was raised in Toronto until high school graduation. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies. The warm climate of Vancouver beckoned, and she’s lived in paradise ever since. From Camosun College Jan received a diploma in Business Administration, starting her accounting career as an intern with the 1994 Commonwealth Games. In 2008 she received her CPA designation and began working as Controller at the Union Club of British Columbia, where she remained until 2023. Every month she would present a summary of the Club’s financial position to the Board, discussing important activities and highlighting areas requiring their attention. Currently working part-time as Senior Accountant with Proline Property Management, Jan finally has time to return to her first love of making beautiful things: quilts and little paintings. While taking an art class at Vancouver School of Art, she was asked become Board Treasurer in Fall of 2023. Since her work at the Union Club prepared her well for this position, it was a pleasure to accept. Apart from serious money work, Jan also loves biking around Victoria’s wonderful new bike lanes, watching movies, and visiting her son in Seattle. Jan Redekop Create your future COURSES & WORKSHOPS
