The recommended paint for these exercises is gouache because most of the artists' works we will be looking at in class are done in oil and acrylic and gouache is the easiest medium to get similar effects. If you prefer to do in-class exercises in pastels, watercolour or acrylic, that is fine. You can use what you have.
