    Discover Lindsay Shojania's background and education. Born in Vancouver and raised in Victoria, Lindsay studied political science at McGill before returning home to her family. She was a board member of the Children’s Museum, member of Canadian Institute for International Affairs (CIIA) and is currently a board member of the Greater Victoria Housing Society (GVHS). Lindsay has volunteered at the Greater Victoria Art Gallery, Arts in Bloom and CNIB Eye Appeal. She is a collector of art, and loves exposing herself to new artists. Her professional background includes working at UVIC and in the CTV Vancouver Island newsroom. She has now passionately landed in the private housing sector, achieving re-zonings for development projects in different municipalities on Southern Vancouver Island.     Discover Leah McInnis's background and education. Biography Leah McInnis is an interdisciplinary visual artist, designer, arts-worker and educator currently based in Victoria, BC. Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include Club Assembly at ARTSPLACE (Annapolis Royal, NS), Mass at Open Space Arts Society (Victoria, BC) and Mood Swings at Flux Gallery (Winnipeg, MB). Her artwork and writing have been published locally, nationally and abroad. Since 2018, McInnis has completed artist residencies in Finland (Arteles Creative Centre), Alberta (Mitchell Art Gallery), Quebec (Murmur Land Studio) and BC (Empire of Dirt). McInnis holds an MFA (U. of Victoria), BFA (Emily Carr U.), BA (U. of Alberta) and a Dip. Fine Arts (MacEwan College). Her work in the arts is generously supported by the British Columbia Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts.     Discover Meghan Krauss's background and education. Biography Meghan is a practicing photographic artist who lives and works, amidst domestic chaos, in Victoria, BC. She moved to the island in 2015 after finishing a three-year photography practicum internship at The Banff Centre, Banff, AB. Meghan obtained her Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Windsor, Windsor, ON (2012) and she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK (2005). Meghan has exhibited her work across Canada and the US, attended a self-directed Residency in Northern Iceland (2014) and the Toni Onley Artists' Project, Virtual Edition, through Island Mountain Arts, Wells, BC (2021). She received a Social Science and Humanities Research Council Scholarship, Ontario Graduate Scholarship, and a full tuition Scholarship while acquiring her masters degree. She has also been the recipient of a Saskatchewan Arts Board Independent Artists Project Grant, an Alberta Foundation for the Arts Visual Arts and New Media Individual Project Grant and a British Columbia Arts Council Professional Development Assistance Grant. Her current series, The Artist, is in response to the place she found herself in during the pandemic. Taking notice, via social media, of creative friends', peers and mentors' productive spaces, she began reaching out with the intent of connecting virtually for a photoshoot, regardless of how elaborate or makeshift each individual's spaces were. An intimacy is achieved in the images, as the viewer is allowed into these personal and private spaces during these strange times.     Discover Val Lawton's background and education. Biography Val Lawton is a Victoria-based artist and illustrator. She has illustrated more than 30 picture books, including series for both the CFL and the NHL, all rendered in pen, ink and watercolour. She has taught nature sketching at a range of elementary and high schools and for the Robert Bateman Gallery of Nature program at the Bateman Centre in Victoria.Val is currently Vice-President of the Victoria Sketch Club and an active member of the Island Chapter, Canadian Society of Childrens’ Authors, Illustrators and Performers. Val’s work also includes close-at-hand landscapes and with a focus on local flora and fauna, using graphite, coloured pencil, watercolour and ink.
